The Super Eagles ties against South Africa in the football game on the 17th of November 2018. Nigeria is now qualified to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. It is not yet decided if they will finish 1st of 2nd place. It all depends on the outcome it the next game in March. Most likely South Africa will join Nigeria from Group E.
Nigeria took the lead already in the 9th minute of the game. The South Africa defender Buhle Mkhwanazi was unlucky enough to score in his own goal. After the goal, South Africa played a bit better and was able to score in the 26th minute of the game. It was a beautiful goal from Lebo Mothiba. He has now been able to score four international goals in just 5 games. Nigeria had an excellent chance to take the lead back when Musa passed Iheanacho but the first touch was not good enough and the opportunity was lost.
In the second half, Nigeria played much better than South Africa and had several chances to take back the lead. One of the best chances was a free kick from Kalu that was meant for Kenneth Omeruo but he missed. In the end, Musa had a ball in the net but it was, unfortunately, ruled out for an offence. It was not the luckiest of evenings for the Super Eagles and Nigerian National Team but in the end, they are probably happy. It is finalised that they will be one of the two teams that are qualified from group E in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to premiumtimesng.com, the best player of the game was Samuel Kalu and Ahmed Musa. Samuel Kalu was probably the best player and had a big role in the goal for Nigeria. Musa was denied a goal from the Gambian referee otherwise Musa would have been the man of the match.
Next Game against Uganda
